Acer A1/ Liquid

Acer has announced the Acer A1 Liquid, the company's first smartphone powered by Android 1.6. The Liquid features a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor for snappy response, a Wide VGA (800 x 480 pixel) resolution capacitive touchscreen(INFO) display, and high-speed HSPA data connectivity and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Along with all the benefits of the Android operating system, Acer claims to have developed improved power management for extended battery life and a new user interface, though details are not provided. The A1 Liquid also includes Acer's Spinlets application, which provides free streaming music and video. Few other details have been released.
Acer has put in a single homescreen toggle that allows you to switch your WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and other functions on-or-off. They've also put in an alt-tab-like task manager, as well as a brand new dialer.
The hardware is equally impressive. The A1 Liquid has a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, clocked to 768 MHz, a WVGA capacitive touchscreen, a 5 MP camera, 256 MB of RAM, WiFi, and a 1350 mAH battery. Overall, it will be 4.5 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide, and 0.5 inches thick (115 x 62.5 x 12.5 mm). it will weigh 4.8 ounces (135 grams) with battery. The Acer A1 Liquid will be available in red, white, and black color schemes.
